Popular YouTuber Ashraful Hossain alias Hero Alam filed a general diary (GD) with the Hatirjheel Police Station of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Thursday on charges of assault, beating and murder.

In the GD, Hero Alam mentioned that at around 2 am on Wednesday, six unidentified miscreants on two motorcycles attacked his house number 17, D Block, Road No. 2, Hatirjheel Metropolitan Project area. At that time, the miscreants entered his room, abused him in obscene language and kicked him indiscriminately. At that time, they threatened to kill him and quickly left the house.
Earlier, Hero Alam filed an attempt to murder case with the Bogra Police Station on Tuesday night as the plaintiff. In this, 8 assistants of lawyers of the Bogra court were made accused.
The case statement states that Hero Alam contested the national and by-elections from Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency in 2018 and 2023. On the day of the voting, Jubo League workers tried to beat and kill Hero Alam at the center on the orders of the previous autocratic government. In the hope of justice during the interim government, Hero Alam went to the Bogra Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court (Nandigram Amli Court) to file a case against Awami League General Secretary and former Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, recently former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal, and former MP AKM Rezaul Karim on Sunday. After filing the case, he was attacked at the gate of the courtroom. This incident occurred in front of many people in the court premises. The police did not come forward to rescue him. The attackers brought him to the court premises and kicked him. At that time, he was held by his ears and made to sit up. Among the attackers, Abu Hasan Sarkar punched Hero Alam in the head and chest and strangled him with the intention of killing him. Nazmul kicked him in the stomach and back with the intention of killing him. Later, local people rescued him in an injured condition and admitted him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra.
